Aujourd'hui, c'est le 28 janvier.

Wednesday night, at the end of my Humanities of Rome class, my professor announced his summer trip. On the itinerary was this quaint little town called San Gimignano. When I went to Italy last year, I fell in love with the city. The wine was great, the shops were delightful, and the views were absolutely breath-taking. Don't believe me? Check it out.

This place also inspired my love of mozzarella and tomato sandwiches.

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 26 janvier.

Matador inspired me to document my life goals.

1. Get paid to travel.
2. Make a difference in peoples lives.
3. Never abuse a credit card.

C'est tout pour maintenant.

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 18 janvier.

Has anyone else noticed the rapid influx of Mercedes Benz vehicles on the road?
I think we should transfer to Saab's or something.

12 January 2011

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 12 janvier.

I don't really have much to say, but I just feel this need, this urge, to write.
What a fantastic first week back it has been. (At least for the most part. Monday was a disaster.)
I felt like I never have before, perhaps I owe this to my Embrace Your Inner Bitch calender, if I do say so myself, I've been fierce.
Networking like crazy. Shopping like a fiend. Etc. Etc.
Life, as of late, is absolutely fabulous!

09 January 2011

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 9 janvier.

So I'm seriously considering doing the EF Gap Year Abroad Program after I finish my BA. Though possible, it would be extremely hard to attain fluency in Spanish, French, and German in two and a half years. So I figure the solution is to spend 12-16 weeks studying and living in Barcelona, Paris, and Munich. Thoughts?

Aujourd'hui est toujours le 6 janvier.

Somewhere I read that if you document your resolutions, they are more like to come true. I'm not sure if that's true, but I'm willing to find out.

  1. Keep up the feminine thing-- Face it. You're fierce.
  2. Keep up this blog.
  3. Strive towards a healthier lifestyle.
  4. Make a point to go to the gym at least four times a week.
  5. Stop cursing.
  6. Be more 'artsy.'
  7. Read at least three books a month.
  8. Network wherever you go.
  9. Start learning a non-Western European language.
  10. Meditate at least ten minutes everyday.
  11. Acknowledge that it's okay to say 'no.'
  12. Turn off the phone at least once a week.

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 6 janvier.

Being that I'm going to grow up to be successful and inspiring </conceitedness>, I found it imperative that I leave behind documentation to commemorate my one-day fortuitous youth. So here it goes:

Dear Chante,
You will one day be as flourishing as you hope, so long as you don't relinquish your "I can do anything" attitude. But before you count your accomplishments, find inner peace with yourself; It will make every aspect of your life so much easier. Don't be too shy to  scream "I told you so" to the disbelievers as you clock in at UN headquarters. Live a little, but remember your upbringing. Never be ashamed to make connections, no matter where you are. You'll never be perfect, but it sure as hell doesn't hurt to try; Just don't become a prude in the process. And finally, never settle, rather set realistic expectations. Cheers to what you know is coming-- and those things that you don't.
Sincerely yours,
Chante

30 December 2010

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 30 décembre.

As the new year approaches, I, like many others, convince myself to resolve my vices. While browsing Matador, I came across a new perfect New Year's resolution list; one hundred things, all attainable.
Cheers!

27 December 2010

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 27 décembre.

Oh how much I've got to say! I've just had no time to say it in.

Rewind to Christmas:
Twas fabulous if I do say so. Went to the movies with the best friend ans saw Black Swan. It was nothing at all as I'd imagined and completely bizarre, albeit brilliant. It's one of those films that messes with your head, which of course, I love.
After the movie, previously stated best friend made my day with an adorable peacoat.

Nothing too exciting has happened since Saturday aside from work work working, but I feel like I have so much more to say and I just can't find the words. Have you ever had the epiphany that everything is going to be okay? Yeah, this morning at five o'clock, I got that feeling while leaving work, and so far, it's stuck. I just feel so hopeful and calm and dare I say satisfied.
