Aujourd'hui, c'est le 23 février.

There are way too many varieties of Coca Cola. Just saying.

11 February 2011

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 11 février.

Last Saturday, I saw Blue Valentine.
Brilliant. Enough said.

Tonight I saw 127 Hours, and truth be told, I have no freaking clue what I think of this movie.
Does James Franco deserve an Oscar? Without a doubt.
Did the movie blow my mind? Not that I'm aware of.
The only thing I know for sure is I will be fleety for the next few days.

Next thing I want to see, although I have no idea when it releases, it Biutiful.

07 February 2011

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 7 février.

Today, although not extraordinary, was a day that I'd been longing for for a while. Everything seemed to fall right into place leaving a light at the end of the tunnel. Truth be told, I'm not sure why today was so healing, but I know I spent a good chunk of it reminiscing on things I'll never forget.

-The time my grandma hacked a snake into pieces nonchalantly as she continued her phone conversation.
-Sitting on papa's lap listening to his war stories.
-A random Romanian man who gave me the inspiration for language at Books a Million.
-In preschool when some snot-nosed brat tried to steal my man ha.
-My first stationary show.
-My grandma's reaction to the first note I wrote her in Spanish.

Seriously one of the best quotes I've heard in a long time. Which prompts me to think about my standards and qualifications for 'a man.' Perfection doesn't exist. People's flaws are what create the allusion of perfection and that's perfectly okay. Besides, people on magazines aren't even the people on magazines. </rant> I needed that. What a wake up call.

28 January 2011

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 28 janvier.

Wednesday night, at the end of my Humanities of Rome class, my professor announced his summer trip. On the itinerary was this quaint little town called San Gimignano. When I went to Italy last year, I fell in love with the city. The wine was great, the shops were delightful, and the views were absolutely breath-taking. Don't believe me? Check it out.

This place also inspired my love of mozzarella and tomato sandwiches.

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 26 janvier.

Matador inspired me to document my life goals.

1. Get paid to travel.
2. Make a difference in peoples lives.
3. Never abuse a credit card.

C'est tout pour maintenant.

18 January 2011

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 18 janvier.

Has anyone else noticed the rapid influx of Mercedes Benz vehicles on the road?
I think we should transfer to Saab's or something.

12 January 2011

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 12 janvier.

I don't really have much to say, but I just feel this need, this urge, to write.
What a fantastic first week back it has been. (At least for the most part. Monday was a disaster.)
I felt like I never have before, perhaps I owe this to my Embrace Your Inner Bitch calender, if I do say so myself, I've been fierce.
Networking like crazy. Shopping like a fiend. Etc. Etc.
Life, as of late, is absolutely fabulous!

09 January 2011

Aujourd'hui, c'est le 9 janvier.

So I'm seriously considering doing the EF Gap Year Abroad Program after I finish my BA. Though possible, it would be extremely hard to attain fluency in Spanish, French, and German in two and a half years. So I figure the solution is to spend 12-16 weeks studying and living in Barcelona, Paris, and Munich. Thoughts?

06 January 2011

Aujourd'hui est toujours le 6 janvier.

Somewhere I read that if you document your resolutions, they are more like to come true. I'm not sure if that's true, but I'm willing to find out.

  1. Keep up the feminine thing-- Face it. You're fierce.
  2. Keep up this blog.
  3. Strive towards a healthier lifestyle.
  4. Make a point to go to the gym at least four times a week.
  5. Stop cursing.
  6. Be more 'artsy.'
  7. Read at least three books a month.
  8. Network wherever you go.
  9. Start learning a non-Western European language.
  10. Meditate at least ten minutes everyday.
  11. Acknowledge that it's okay to say 'no.'
  12. Turn off the phone at least once a week.
